About John

John Eyre hails from Nottingham. He started playing guitar in 1965 and had his first gig in 1968 at
Ilkeston Folk Club. He studied music at Clarendon College, Nottingham and at Hull University. He’s
been a studio musician at Black Dog Studios since 1995, collaborating on multiple projects with
Paul Edgely (former engineer for Capercaillie).
His compositions are carefully crafted and
understated, and the influences include
Medieval songs, Classical techniques, Prog Rock and 60s
Folk. Themes to look for in his music are: space, science, nature, dreams and spirituality.
